I recall reading a talk from Elder Nelson in which he indicated that the church teaches general principles and does not spend time teaching exceptions to general principles. Basically this is different than dating a religious mainstream Christian. I wouldnt encourage my kids to date a mormon. The LDS Church encourages that young women explore their options and meet all different kinds of people.
